The Flames of Hell!

This is a modified version of the holster Will Ghormley made for the character Charlie Prince in the remake of "3:10 to Yuma". The pattern is made loose for a quick draw and I tightened it up a bit for better retention. The original was black with red suede lining and bright nickel spots. I did it in oxblood with no lining but retained the red contrasted stitching with antique nickel spots. I think the look is a little more subtle. The holster is called the Flames of Hell but it looks like a big rose to me. I think it's cool and a little different but some may not like it. I'm trying to do at least one sample of every pattern I offer for the website.

It is a cool holster, and I like the way the ends of the stitching stop with the nickel spots at the bottom. I do agree with you that the stitching doesn't really suggest The Flames of Hell. The problem is probably because the design and its suggestion are too subtle for most people. In 2013, people are used to more graphic design forms that don't force them to use their imagination. Then again, if it'd been designed in the 1800s, there would probably still have been some rube cowboy looking at it and scratching his head saying "Don't look like no flames I ever seen before." Or something like that.
