The BX dilemma

Problem: One BX trigger and three 10/22 rifles.
The rifles are an 1103 mystery wood standard I bought 4-5 months ago.
A takedown I can't remember the model number of but the one with the stock that holds 3 magazines in the compartment.
And another 1103 mystery wood standard bought in 2012.
The 2012 was with my dad's stuff and just found.
All 3 are unfired as of yet. I plan to fire several magazines through them before doing anything to any of them just to get a feel for them.
And then, which should get the BX and why?
I have an idea on that but want to see what the more experienced have to say in comparison. Thanks for any and all pertinent input.

I'd just go with the most recently purchased rifle and leave the others 'unfired'. If that one doesn't meet expectations, THEN try another. OR, start swapping in aftermarket parts.
No need to cobble up the others.

Yes, the two I bought this year seemed the likely candidates. Then it's the wood stocked standard or the takedown. One hand says takedown as it could probably use more help, being takedown. The other says the standard as it's more likely to benefit most and show the best improvement being not takedown.

what Mobuck says makes good sense , try one see how it shoots as is , then put in the trigger and see IF it makes a big enough difference to warrant the change/cost , keep going if not happy with how it turns out

I put BX triggers in all of the 10/22's I will ever shoot, but based on your list, I would start with the backpacker.

The other easy decision mod is the extended mag release. I found these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09R7YRW89, and you can't beat them for the price.

I put both on my 10/22 Magnum

Which ever gun you want to shoot the most….🙄

Or in the gun where you want a lighter cleaner breaking trigger.

Hopefully or Probably there the same gun.

The only 10/22 I had problem with the trigger was the 10/22 magnum. Had a gunsmith try to make it smoother & lighter, no joy. The BX trigger was what it needed. Worked great. I was miffed that Ruger didn't do this the first time.

I have several shooter 10/22s but have yet to put one in any of mine (put a few in for others though). Anyways, the collector in me says take the newest one, but you could go with the 1103 from 2012. That way it’ll be your main 10/22 shooter, and dad will be with you when you go shooting 😉
