The Bues

The Blues were at Annapolis today doing their magic. Quite a group. My son-in-law's brother was the Gunnery Sergeant on the Fat Albert crew for a while so I got to get close up and personal with some of the crews. Great bunch of people; pilots and crews

When we did winter gunnery Dets at El Centro we would see them there. That's where they were based out of. I knew a few guys that went to the Angels. They said it was PITA to get into and a PITA when there with all the inspections, both personnel and aircraft. Everything and everyone had to be pretty at all times. Sort of the aviation version of USNCG. Sure was fun watching them though.

Yeah oops a bit of a typo....but being called an Angle would be better than what we actually called them.....

Thanks for your service on the spelling police force. Only time I get bent is when a doofus spells ordnance as ordinance...on a gun forum of all places... IYAOYAS!

I have a niece named Angel and my SIL's dog is named Angel. One of my best friend's last name is Angell. Angle happens a lot!

I have been privileged to seeing the Blue Angels AND socializing with the pilots at the O club once.
Their abilities in how they flew were amazing,, yet they make it seem "easy."

I'd go anytime I can to see them perform!

Never seen the Blue Angels perform. But I have seen the T-Birds quite a few times. Sadly though I always had to work while doing it. So our "seats" weren't the best.

That one isn't on me....

We did tease them a lot but not just anyone could get orders to that command. I served with a couple former Angel pilots when I was in a F14 squadron. They said it was intense but no more intense than ACM training...just more cramped LOL.

I just learned something. Unlike the Thunderbirds, Blue Angels do not wear pressure suits as they interfere with their control stick which is centered between their legs. T-birds sticks are on the side . They breathing and muscle control instead. THAT is a tough bunch.
