Guys...this footage is of the "slot man" in the Diamond formation...toughest flying due to wingtip vortices's, etc...when he "smiles", “strains”, he is pulling some serious positive/ negative "g" forces.

WOW! What a ride! Notice the rest of the formation in the Pilot's reflective goggles!

Thanks! Never get tired of watching them perform. My son-in-law's brother was the chief gunny on their team a while back. Linda and I were lucky enough to get some VIP treatment at one of their shows. They are quite a team, even when on the ground.

Hi,

Wasn't that guy a passenger in a demo ride? I've seen plenty of videos of the Thunderbirds during actual shows, and those guys are buttoned up a whole lot tighter than this guy, so I'd imagine the Blues are, too.

All in all, a great ride any way you look at it!

I DON'T think so; Given the view of the other aircraft through his cockpit and the reflection in his goggles, do listen carefully and you can hear him coordinating with the other aircraft too.

They do not include passenger rides during the show. That is done at some other time. Now there are exceptions. Bill, the Gunny, 'snuck' his bro (my son-in-law) on Fat Albert when they did their part of the show. Tried to get me a seat but that was nixed.

Amazing flying talent. It just boggles the mind how they can keep those aircraft so precisely aligned with each other. In those shots where they are flying in tight formation you'd swear that they were somehow attached to each other to keep their spacing that precise.
