I completed the project! I replaced the original stock Vaquero hammers with Bisley hammers. It was a great project and I am enjoying the results. Thank you to all the forum members who assisted and gave advice in order for this project to be a success. A special shout out to Robb Barnes.

Since this was my first conversion I took my time. I basically used a set of four files, 350grit, 600grit and 800grit. Also lots of oil, cutting and honing variety. When your all done, polish them up, install them and go shoot 'em. The trick is making the template out of your Vaquero hammer and then scribing the bisley hammer which denotes how much material you will have to remove. The bisley hammer's lobe is larger then the standard vaquero hammer and this is the material that must be removed. In the pictures you can see where the original spur on the Vaquero hammer has been removed, this allows you to use it as a template. The correct radius is a must. Look close and you can see where a lot of material was removed and I have a little more to go (The red line on the lobe of the bisley hammer.) The three hammers are also pictured.

Unless your original hammer fit nice and flush with the grip frame ears, you may want to leave a little extra on the Bisley lobe to finish it flush with the ears once it's in the gun.
