I had to go take care of some business up in Clayton County yesterday. On my way home I was driving by Ed's Pawn Shop (also known as Ed's Public Safety). I decided to stop in and browse. The thing that caught my eye was a Mark II it had a 4" bull barrel & looked to be in good condition. They were asking $225 dollars for it but I would imagine there might be a little wiggle room as it is a used gun. I didn't do anything yesterday because I am financially challenged at the moment. I am thinking something like this would probably be the most sensible firearms purchase I could make in the near future though. There are a lot of different guns I would like to have but the last couple of years I haven't gotten much range time in because of finances. So I'm thinking at least I could afford to shoot it. Everything I have read about these guns has been positive except what a pain in the posterior it is to clean them. Is $225 a good price for a Mark II bull barrel in good condition? Also will these guns run okay on cheap Wal Mart bulk .22 ammunition?

22/45 or metal lower mkii? Blued or SS? No matter how you answer 225 would be great deal in my area. Buy it! Mine have always run well on a wide range of ammo including the inexpensive stuff. Pics when you get it!

Pawn shop? Slap a $200 bill on the counter and you will probably walk out with that gun. Easy to clean once you learn how. Actually don't even have to strip it very often. I pull a snake through mine and wipe it down after shooting, and only pull the bolt for a better scrub maybe every 500 rounds or more, depends on how it is behaving. Rarely should the lower need removed from the upper. As for range time, you can't beat the price of 22 ammo. I buy the cheap Federal stuff at Wal-Mart. No troubles.

actaully keep a $200 bill... that sounds rare... but you should talk them down to $200 or even a little more... or get the to throw in a drill/saw?

It was a Mark II. The frame looked like stainless the barrel etc. appeared blued. I want this but it will be a couple of weeks before I have any free cash. It may be gone before my situation changes but if it is still there I will try to get it. [/quote]

I believe that is what it looked like Al. They had 1 Mark II & a Mark III. The Mark II was marked $225. The Mark III was marked $299. It always sucks to be broke but sometimes it sucks worse than others. I can't do anything right now but when the money I am waiting on comes in I will be going back. If they don't have these same ones they might have something else I would want.

This is a touch different than the average pawn shop. They are a Glock LEO dealer & often have interesting trade in guns. They do a brisk business.

Al if you would want something like this I can PM you their information. I want one but can't do anything until the money I am waiting on comes in. You might as well be the one to get it as anyone else.

I for one am shocked 1gunsnotenough hasn't bought ever MkII on the east coast. :)
