Hey man I hope you have a successful surgery and a fast recovery. Getting old isn't for sissies.

Good luck. It’s not fun but the result should be an improvement. I had my left hip replacement nineteen years ago due to a car accident.
Hope all goes well and you have an excellent recovery. My wife was a rehab nurse for twenty years and took care of hundreds of hip replacement surgery patients. Do what your doctor says and you should do fine.
The guy I swim with seven days a week had hip replacement surgery Jan, 30/2024 and ten weeks later back in the pool seven days a week.

I've already commented on my hip replacement. Hope yours turns out better.
Probably one of the things that makes for a better result is being at or below weight for height/age/strength considerations and it's too late to affect that. Good Luck.

Well, I'm back home and already driving my wife crazy. I was kind of out of it last night, so it took me awhile to get back to you all. The Doc and nurses all said it went well. I'm up and around as directed. It is pretty sore, but that will pass. I'm not skinny and the Doc made the comment when I saw him before surgery that he was glad they had my hearing aids out because he might be cussing me for the fat.

Good News! Take the dern meds and do the physics and try not to give your wife too hard a time, but you know that's what she's there for.

Just listen to the doctor and you’ll be fine. They had me up and walking 3-4 hrs after surgery, not much mind you, but to see if it worked, lol. That was 8 years ago.

Great news. Now do what the doc and your wife tell you to do. I have found that's the hardest part.

My wife had to have her surgery reschedule till next month due to a dental issue that came up.
So we will be following your progress. Follow the advise given above and you will be fine.

Good report. Sometimes us heavier guy are all the dr has to work with.
I have had both hips replaced and could not be happier with the results! Glad you are doing well! Been 5 years on the first & 2 Years on the second.

It is going pretty well. I was out on the deck for a while the other day. Yesterday was Talladega, so my afternoon was spent with that (Chase Elliot fan here, tough day for him). There is some intermittent pain, but Tylenol takes pretty good care of that. I am working on walking without the walker now. I don't get far away from it, but use it more for balance than anything. Thanks for asking.
