Surely is great to be back among the 'living'. I just returned home, Thursday night, after spending 8 days in the hospital. Infected bladder and 'other' issues. Can't say enough about the nurses...except...GREAT nurses! Always willing to 'be there' when needed and to offer explanations when I asked questions. They made the stay a little less stressful.

Dern it Frank,,, cut out the crap & keep yourself in good health! Can't have ya down & out to where you miss the Gathering!
Glad you are back my friend!

The 'irony' of this visit was that it came exactly one year from when I was admitted last year. I wasn't placed in the same room though. Last year I was in 417A, this year it was 419B. This year I also managed to get to be there one additional day awaiting lab results. Oh, did I mention that my wife was also admitted the same night as I was. She passed out, never figured out why, and they lost her pulse. They had the paddles ready to use when suddenly her pulse returned. She stayed the rest of that night and the next day in cardiac section on the 3rd floor. We DO try to do things together but this was going beyond the call on her part.

ROOM 417 ???
When I was in the VA hospital for my back surgery, I ended up in room 417 and spent 4 days there. Yes, the Nurses in the Neuro-surgical recovery ward were excellent. I even sent them a "Thank You" card for the caring service I received.

I bought each shift, day and night, a HUGE box of chocolates from a well known 'chocolate factory' down the street from the hospital...with instructions to save some for the gang that wasn't on duty that day. Cost me a small fortune but it was spent with a smile.
