Howdy all. I have an unfired, in the box, old model Super Blackhawk bought in around 1980. Cylinder strap on revolver. If anyone can tell me what the value is, I would be much appreciative. Hank

Thanks Ty. I just found it in the safe and forgot that I had it. Have two now and thinking about selling this one. I appreciate it. Hank

LOL It did not start out that way. Gave blood for my first one.lol It was a Bull Barrel Ruger and cost me $37. And I still have it, or rather, my son does.lol Truly, I am not sure how it grew to where it is now. I just loved firearms and ended up spending on them instead of other things that were the trend at the time. It is not so nice every March and April when I have to clean them and oil them up again.lol Will see you in two weeks in Alexandria for the show, Lord willin and the creek don't rise. Be well my friend, Hank

Do as I do, clean them good then use a lube such as Wilsons ultima lube then place the weapon in a medical grade vacuum seal bag and seal it. All the weapons in my walk in vault except weapons I use weekly are vacuum sealed. You don't ever have to worry about rust or anything. I do the same for parts and mags and ammo.

I do basically that, but it takes me a month to get it done. I am beginning to be cleaning more than I am shooting.lol Hank

As to the original question, I agree that the value should be around $700. I recently traded a gun I valued at $650 ~$700 even for a like-new Super Blackhawk three screw. Included in the deal I got a very nice leather holster along with a letter from Ruger stating the shipping date.

A similar gun is for sale at a local gun shop for $749.
