The second one of the Liquor store camera is kind of interesting in that I think the security guard sitting in the street is actually controlling the camera.... of course this is at 7:00 am EST....

We have a neighbor and his wife going to Sturgis but because of their age, they just can't do the full out and back ride anymore. They load it in the trailer and tow it out and then use the bike the whole time they are there. Then load it back up and return to PA.

Considering the average Harley rider is in his mid 60s and many are either selling their bike within 10 years or buying an old man trike I seem to believe there are more being trailered there each year. New generation are buying 500 cc bikes in different configurations not cruisers.

if its too far for a bike...just drive the car! lol.
its like saying I climb mt Everest, but because im old, I just have a chopper drop me off at the top! :P

I'm not a biker but I've always found it strange that someone would trailer their motorcycle somewhere to ride it.

My buddy the retired Marine Gunnery Sgt... who lives on the coast of N.C. road his bike to a convention a few years ago in Branson Missouri.. you think that is a trec? Then when the convention was over he headed south down to Texas and then proceeded to do the loop.

I keep checking those cameras every morning... usually between 6 & 7 and nothing is happening... now I check it at 9:12 and the streets are still pretty much empty.... what's the deal with all these bikers... don't they know the morning is the best part of the day?

Well, Sturgis is in the Mountain Time Zone, so it was just after seven o'clock out there.

And the possibility of over-partying last night does exist.

Or they're all getting ready for sunrise church services.

Things are rolling now.

I don't know what goes on in all those buildings but from what I can see the streets are very peaceful and everyone is well behaved. I'm surprised at the lack of old school choppers. Do bad ass motorcycle gangs go to this?

Well it’s 2021 and most of the old school chopper builders and riders are now in their 70s to 90s!

Since the Orange County Choppers / Big Dog / American Ironhorse / Bourget fad finally petered out ….. choppers are no more. Unreliable, uncomfortable, overpriced …… they’re just dead in the water.

So many changes since I've been there in the mid to late 90's. Really a slim crowd. Nothing like the people & traffic when I went. Mostly why I quit going, just too, way too compacted.

The bike styles have changed, just like clothing styles. Interesting to see what the 10PM(their time) crowd looks like.... If I can stay up that late, LOL.

Well, at 10:40 here it's 8:40 there and everything looks pretty calm if not quite as crowded as earlier.

I did just see a guy suffering from the "blind staggers" get helped across the street by a couple others.

Looking at the photos and videos from Sturgis, there seems to be a serious lack of motorcycle manufacturer diversity there. Am I missing something?

Jim
