I was thinking of asking for this for Christmas, partly for HD, and partly for training at the range. is this any good? Anythign better out there for a comparable price?

I'd be using it on an SR9, 9c, and SR22.

Thanks!

Have one on my sr40. Nice little combo.

Not really, they are a little tough when first adjusting them but thats about it. I got a bore sight for it and adjusted it accordingly. From a bench its great, standing not so much. Really I use the laser more for quicker target acquisition at night with the light and laser on at the same time than pin point shots as it is my HD gun. I have put roughly 400 rounds through it with it on and it hadn't drifted any (bench test) or come loose.

I like mine. I do not think that there is anything comparable on the market with the same expected quality, same features for a similar price. I cannot comment on the long term reliability becuase I have only fired a few rounds thru the gun with the light attached, but I have owned mine for about 6 months now and have had no problems.

BTW, the adjustments work fine as long as you have the allen wrench. Just line the laser dot up with the Line of Sight for your iron sights laterally, and then keep the dot about 3-4in lower than the point of aim (because the line of sight of the sights is about 3-4in above the LOS of the laser). That will get you very close in terms of sighting in.

A $15 bore sight is just as good, no guess work. Put the bore sight in stand at your desired distance and match the dots on the wall. If you are using it on multiple guns thats what I would do

I really like mine, got it from Midway, $109 there and at Bud's ($116 with shipping). It hit a tad low, and a tad left, no trouble at all adjusting with Allen wrench they provide.

I have had a TRL4 for almost a year mounted to a P95. Great light, easy to zero to the sights. Great value as anything that does go wrong Streamlight will fix or replace at no cost. Surefire makes great lights but they are very proud of them. Streamlight is a working man's tool.
