Violent storms with very high winds just swept across our area. They came through northeastern Arkansas and ranged from northern Mississippi to the Kentucky line. Winds were reported up to 106 mph in some locales. Trees and power lines are down, two are known dead in Arkansas; one a retired police officer was killed when a tree fell on his house; the other a lady killed when a tree fell on her van.
One strange photo was shown of a four wheeler ATV was blown up against and impaled on the gable of a house. Tens of thousands of folks in Arkansas are without power; Memphis reports 37,000 residents without power.
Nita and I are safe and our neighborhood unscathed, seems the storm parted and went north and south of our neighborhood.
The storm line continues toward Birmingham, Alabama. This hit the Memphis area around 2:00pm today, Thursday June 5th.
