The new motor is in place on my tumbler and its up and running and doing fine. I have a Thumbler's Tumbler that uses two barrels that hold fifty rounds each. I prefer this as it keeps my cases separate. I carefully note how many times each box of cases has been loaded and this double barrel tumbler allows that. My "method" is to load new brass a maximum of ten times for full power magnum loads, the reduced loads after that. Generally I get fifty or sixty loadings doing this before cases begin failing.
But in addition to that, plus having a new Sunday-go-to-meeting holster, I'm laid up this weekend with a sinus infection. Went to a minor medical clinic yesterday and got some real medicine so hope to be back in the saddle again in a couple of days. Except that knocks my Fourth of July plans into a cocked hat.
I have been experimenting with some Accurate Arms 5744 powder that was given to me. Won't replace my favorite, currently Winchester 572 and 244, but I have it and it seems to work. Takes more powder, though, using 18.0 ~21.6 grs. in .44 Magnum, while 572 takes about 8.5 or so.
