Hi,newbie here so please bear with me. I have several ruger revolvers,old style new style, old style brass frame, etc. Normally, with blue book of gun values ,etc. it is pretty easy to come up with an approximate value, but one gun has me stumped. It is a ruger blackhawk convertible in stainless. Not one of the new ones that Wiliams had produced, but an an original 1974 model, serial 32-56xxx. According to H. W. Ross Jr. , in his book "A Blacksmiths Guide to Ruger Flattops and Super Blackhawks" he thinks thst possibly only 20 or so of these guns were produced. So, my question is, has anyone ever heard of one of these guns being sold and for how much. I can't find any info at all. Thanks...and I wish I was smart enough to post pictures

RENE states about 300 made. RENE also list the value at $765.00. This would be "Mint" in the box with all papers.
bergeron, welcome to the Forum... make sure you contact the factory, and get what the shipping catalog number is of that guns serial number, to ensure that it indeed did ship as an "X" ( the designation for a convertible)as there have been others done over the years, by hook or by crook, and some are not even made in stainless steel but are actually 4140 Chrome-moly that has been "metalifed SS" a chromium solution, not a lot different than a 'plating' more of an etching of the surface and then buffed to resemble stainless steel, AND some are just "in the white" have NO bluing on them at all so as to "match" but these will "color" ( turn dark ) if you put a dab of 'cold blue' on the 'spare cylinder............not long ago, a Forum Member was actually "lucky enough" ( his timing was right on?? or just a fluke...??) and he was able to get a spare 9 mm cylinder fitted to his older "new model" stainless gun, voila, a "perfect match" BUT alas, NOT one of the "original shipped convertibles"....BIG difference to a collector.................no difference to a shooter/user
