I have someone willing to try to make stainless Bearcat ejector rod housings. Does anyone have one we could use as a pattern? I have the one on my gun but hated to take it off and send it to him. Hopefully some one has one.

Dear Ruger,

We Bearcat shooters and Collectors do NOT understand the slight error that occurred during design of the Stainless Steel New Bearcat! All the other wonderful Stainless Steel New Model Single-Sixes, New Model Blackhawks, Vaqueros, New Vaqueros, New Model Super Blackhawks, New Model Super Blackhawk Hunter and the Stainless Steel Bisley series of Blackhawks, Super Blackhawks and, of course, the Hunters ALL have Stainless Steel ejector housings!

Why can't you step up and add a stainless steel housing to the magnificent New Bearcat series?

Thanks for listening......

Very Truly Yours,

flatgate and ALL his friends at www.rugerforum.com

If he's serious, I don't think it would take too long to make back a $10 investment on his part.

excellent letter! sure hope you sent that directly to them. if not, please do!!!

I got to thinking Tuesday and called Brownells. I ordered a blued one and had it sent direct to my guy. He should have it in a few days. Ended up $15 something with shipping. Will post as soon as I hear anything.

We'll be listening, too! :P

This seems like an item that would have widespread appeal. I think he could sell quite a few here, depending on price.

If the price is too high, I'd still probably buy at least one... just because I can! 8)

At fifteen bucks, you sure it's not just black coated aluminum???

Sorry, I had this thread confused with one of the others. I was thinking about the post about having a blued steel housing finished in Metalife. Reckon I should read more carefully.

Here is an up date. My gunsmith received the housing from Brownells. He ask me to measure mine. I found my caliper and sent him the measurements tonight. He thought he would have one made up in a few days and send it to me to try. That is what I know. We have never talked price but if these are as good as the other things I have seen that he makes we will be fine. :D

SS Bearcat at top of my trade-for list, not my buy list. So I'd buy a new SS ejector housing when available.

I'm in for one as well. I polished my aluminum one to match the rest of my polished gun, but it isn't as attractive as stainless steel.

My guy is working on them. Said he is working on fixtures for drilling and milling. He ordered a special drill bit so we are getting closer.

Hey Everyone, I'm the guy that's working on the Stainless ejector rod housings! Thought I would post up here with what is going on. :)

I got everything pretty much done in order to be setup to make them and got a few test pieces done!

As it stands now, I feel what I have is close to what we need, but will have one off to my buddy Stubbfarmer to check out on his Bearcat. Need to make sure it will fit correctly and the finish will match the Ruger finish.

Thanks!

Eric

Nice work, and welcome to the forum!
