I picked up a pair of mismatched Eagle stags a while back here on the forum. I will need to relocate the hole for the locating pin and also the one ferrule. What I need to know is what to use to fill in the existing holes. Would a two part epoxy work, and how will it look for the ferrule repair?

I think most folks use epoxy for repairing stag grips. As long as it dries either clear or whitish, it should look at least decent. I use undyed Brownells Acraglas Gel to repair stags, and it matches pretty well.

If your epoxy cures light or clear you can add blackboard chalk dust, as you mix, to give it some color. I have never worked on stag grips but I do use India Sambar stag on knife handles.

great info and never used blackboard chalk dust but that is a great idea too...love this place...God Bless,John...i need to do some work on two pairs of old sambar stag grips here very soon...
