SS Bearcat price

Here in Texas that is a great price.
I checked prices at a recent show in Dallas, blued $439+tax and S/S $459+tax. We have several of the largest dealers in the US and I have never seen them priced any lower, and they will not come down on their prices.

That is actually barely over wholesale (or a little under, depending on the distributor), I would say it is a good price.

Around here, the price for a stainless model sells for around $459 plus sales tax.... if one can find one.

If you can purchase one for $417 plus tax, I'd say go for it!

I got mine just last month off Gunbroker http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Categories.aspx for less than $300.00 Might want to keep an eye out for another one there or here at Guns America
http://www.gunsamerica.com/ or Guns Inmternational http://www.gunsinternational.com/ .

Both of mine each cost me about $435, before tax and fees, both bought through Gallery Of Guns at two different LGS in March. I'd say $417 is a better deal than I got!

BTW, G Of G hasn't had any stainless for well over a month. When they have had them, it's only a dozen or so, and they go fast. Stainless ones are pretty scarce, blued ones not so much.

You have an advantage that the gun is in your hands to look over before spending the first dollar.

My mistake, I stopped in again today it is $471.00 not $417.00. I must have a touch of dyslexia or alzheimers.

Here is another option if you want to save a few bucks!

From what I've heard, Bud's has a good reputation.

You wouldn't have the fees I paid, just background check and tax? Still a slightly better deal than I got on either of mine.

So I should have picked up the one I held this weekend for $450, brand new?

It'd be right at $490 after tax which is the same or less than what I'd pay to order one/win one at auction, have it shipped and then pay the xfer fee. And that's even if I could find one on GB, etc. They just weren't there when I looked this weekend...

Did you check the link in my previous post? Bud's Gun Shop has the stainless for $433 and includes free shipping!

I would have grabbed the one you had in your hand, and could check over good. Bud's deal does not include what you pay your FFL for accepting it, and you're getting a gun you haven't seen.

My two each ran a few bucks under $500 total. I was glad to pay that, considering MSRP is $584 and they're not so easy to find.

True. After the xfer, I'd be looking at $470 vs $490. Either way I'm supporting a local shop but the ability to see it and "hand select" so to speak just might be worth $20.

Hmmm again...

I'd much rather buy locally and examine it before purchasing!

Just a side note. Bud’s will provide your choice of a replacement (pending availability) or a full refund and pay the return shipping cost on firearms if found to be defective upon receipt. The key is to thoroughly inspect the gun prior to completing the transfer documents.

Thanks for the tip on Bud's. The problem is I don't have all the cash in hand and am trying to kick the credit card habit. The local shop has 90 days lay away. Just didn't know if I'd be getting hosed at $471.00
