I just picked up an SR9C this morning. I have not yet done a full fluff and buff on the trigger or torn the gun all the way down. The trigger on the compact is different than the full size. The compact trigger has far less rearward motion before releasing the striker. This makes the trigger travel shorter and eliminates some of the grit as the striker drags in channel and against those horrible plastic parts in the striker assembly. Replacing those plastic parts with steel would go miles toward improving the trigger.
Watching the striker from the rear the compact has roughly half the travel as a full size. I will not be able to tell until I tear the compact down, but I suspect that Ruger changed the distance on the trigger bar between the tab that releases the striker and the curved portion of the trigger bar that forces the trigger bar downward as it bears against the disconnector to shorten the release.
When I do the full tear down of the 9 and 9c for a trigger job. I will measure and compare the full size and compact internals to pin down if this is the case :lol: .....
