SR9c trigger advice needed!

Please help, as I am confused with all the things available that supposedly help with the trigger on the SR9c.

I have a new SR9c with about 200 rounds thru it, and I want to lighten up/smooth out the trigger. I plan on using the pistol as a CCW and for shooting LOCAL IPSC type matches starting next month. My question is in what order should I do the following or where would my money be BEST spent?

1) Polish all innards
2) Order one of the Ghost Trigger Connectors (which one?)
3) Order one of the many items from Galloway Precision to improve the trigger (which one?)
4) Just shoot the darn thing more to smooth it out.

I will probably end up doing all 4, but is there any of the items from Galloway that are not compatible with the Ghost trigger connector? And does anyone have a picture of the Galloway stainless steel striker indicator? I REALLY like the idea of replacing that to make it easier to see.

Well, Galloway's competition trigger kit is probably the best bang for your buck. Comes with polished components, so the need for polishing is essentially gone, might want to polish the trigger bar. Once you have the Comp. Kit, the need for a Ghost Connector is gone as well. The Ghost is compatible, but the benefits are negligible.

Best thing I would recommend is to get the Competition Kit. All the parts drop-in.

I'd have to disagree. I polished the internals of my SR9 before the Ghost Rocket came out. That improved trigger feel some. A little, but noticeable. I later installed a Ghost Rocket, and I feel a definite improvement in trigger feel, overtravel, and reset. Improvement in pull weight may be negligible, but it is noticeable, though it's certainly not 3.5 pounds. However, the overall feel of the trigger is greatly improved.

I use my SR9 for my CCW and for IDPA. I've seen noticeable improvement with my IDPA shooting after installing the Ghost Rocket. It's no "glass rod breaking" 1911 trigger, but I like the trigger better than a stock Glock and SR9 trigger. The only striker trigger I've felt similar would be a M&P with a competition trigger. However, the Ghost Rocket on the SR9 still had a better reset, and I wouldn't use that M&P for CCW.

I think the inconsistency with the SR9 has to do with varying results with the Rocket and other Ghost connectors. I felt improvement with overtravel, but that was it. I put in the Galloway kit and saw my groups get tighter and more center mass. Some like the Ghost products, but I'm not really one of them.

That said, the 9c is a little different internally, tighter tolerances, and should be more consistent with regards to modifications.

Would this be the $50.00 Comp kit on the site? If so, it says "We recommend a full trigger action polish to get the full affect." This is not a problem, but i want to make sure I know what I am getting. Also, the site says to check the "custom work" section for this, but I can't find the "custom work" section on the site. Maybe I am blind!

Would this kit be OK in a carry gun! Currently my trigger weight is about 7.5 to 8 pounds according to the gage. It is MUCH better than my Sigma, but no where near my Colt NM 1911.

Well, there's just no way you're going to get a striker-fired gun with a trigger comparable to a good 1911 trigger. Completely different fire control systems that's like comparing apples and Buicks.

I am a huge fan of the Ghost Rocket. My trigger is about the best feeling striker triger I have ever felt, and my accuracy improved dramatically. No more shooting low left. I also reccommend a super thorough cleaning of the striker channel and striker. Just the lightest coat of lube on the striker and nothing in the channel. Shoot the hell out of it and you'll see how great the SR9c is.

Yes, it would be the same kit, from the coming soon section, but I couldn't see where it shows extra polishing is required. The Comp Kit isn't what most would use for CCW. But if it generates better accuracy, and is still safe, why should it matter?

My kit had a new polished striker (and spring), new polished factory connector, polished striker blocker and slightly stronger trigger bar spring. I had already polished my internals, but the parts I didn't swap out only the Trigger Bar would need to be polished, where it contacts the Striker Blocker and Connector.

My SR9 isn't ever going to be a SA 1911 trigger that breaks like glass, but the improvement from stock, simply polished and the Ghost Rocket mods to the GP Comp Kit, its just night and day.
