A couple of weeks ago my wife's SR9C began having a series of light strikes. I removed the striker and cleaned out the striker channel. I took it back to the range and it still had some issues so I sent it back to Ruger. They received the sidearm on Tuesday afternoon and put it in shipping on Friday. According to their packing list they replaced the magazine disconnect and striker assembly and test fired it with 50 rounds. I have nothing to say but kudos to their customer service! I wish all companies were as good as Ruger. The test will come later this week when I go to the range and shoot the wife's sidearm with 100 or so rounds. I am one happy camper with this whole situation.

About how long and how many rounds were through before the light strikes started?
Just curious.

Bought it used, very dirty when I bought it. Unknown how many rounds through it before I bought it. After cleaning it I've put over 1000 rounds through it before cleaning the striker channel. (I know, should have done that before). Once in a while it would have a light strike (or bad primer) but nothing until the last couple of range trips.

I know there was a very slight difference between the spring on the striker assembly between the new and the old. I think it only amounted to one additional spring turn longer, very slight adjustment as I read. I'm not sure if you have an old one or not.

The conventional wisdom is to make sure the channel is dry and clean. I break this rule slightly by running a small patch with oil on it through, only one, followed by about 5 completely dry ones to make sure I get all excess. Most will tell you not to even do that.
