I agree.
I would rather a gun "under lubed" than "over lubed".

Of course, the BEST way is to do it correctly to begin with

I have to say (I exspect to be blasted) that when i brought my SR9 home I shot at least 100 rds thru it before i even feild stripped it & NO hiccups 8)
I brought home the wifes SR9C & so far 150 rds without even feild stripping & its "perfect"
Maybe ya'll cleaning too much

Had 1000 rounds without a cleaning and no problems, so I agree. That said, I took my chances without removing the gunk and had no ill-effects, but I'm in the minority I feel on this one. Ruger ain't the only company to pack the slide full of gunk.
