SR9c Failure - Maybe not?...

Hi all, new to the forum and here's my first post...

Fired my 1st 100 rounds through my new SR9c. I had a total of 7 failure to ejects (case remained in chamber) and 2 failure to feeds. I used Fiocci 124 grain FMJ and Federal 115 grain FMJ. Failures occurred with both. I load 5 rounds (both the 10 and 17 mags) and the FTE usually occurred on #4 or #5, both mags. My instructor had it fail on him as well.
Is this common during the break-in period? Any suggestions?

Thinking I should clean it and try another 200 rounds to see if the problem persists (before contacting Ruger).

Any feedback would be much appreciated!

No gun should need a break in period, call Ruger something ain't right.

I would disassemble and clean, especially the striker area. Some SR's come from the factory with too much lube and there have been numerous issues with FTE, etc.

Thanks for the comments. I've sent a message to Ruger CS and will make sure to field strip and clean before my next session this weekend.

UPDATE: I gave the gun a good cleaning (alot of oil in the gun from the factory). Lightly lubed the slide and metal parts. Returned to the range and... FTE on the 2nd round, but then I went through 100 more rounds without an issue. Not gonna clean it until I put 500 more rounds through it (unless more failures). Will plan to head back to the range and put another 200 through it later this week.

I did submit an email to Ruger CS. They replied within 24 hours and suggested contacting Ruger directly on Monday to arrange for return however, I would like to put some more ammo through it to make sure the problem is resolved (or continues).

Well, not sure it's the same problem, but when I first bought mine, out of 300 rounds, about 15-20 would load the round but not reset the trigger. Sent it back, they replaced the trigger assembly, and it now works beautifully. Hope it all gets worked out.
