SR9c 10 Round Mag - Grip Mod - w pics

After going back and forth on the flat mag end and the mag grip extention and not really satisfied with either I decided to mod the 10 round mag extension.

Pretty simple business but thought I'd share since the extension seems to overkill the extra length and can get in the way and snag things, while the flat end tends to leave finger hanging half off the end.

Step 1 --Grip gun how you would normally and trace an outline on the extension just outside your small finger. (Mine ended up .930 from end of extension, and that is .200 shorter then it was.)

Step 2 - Remove extension from mag and using disk grinder or belt sander grind down just short of outline (could file it also but may get time consuming), checking occasionally that it's square to existing end. Stopping a little short test, and finish to liking.

Step 3--Using buffing wheel (or fine emery paper polish in to match existing finish making sure to round edges snag free.

Step 4-- Re install extension onto mag...Done.

Whola...done--enjoy your new custom $5.00 grip.
Nice, quick, cheap improvement that even looks a bit better IMO.

Anyway, I agree, the finger extension must be for way bigger man-hands than mine...or yours judging from your pics. I took off about twice what you did and my pinky actually covers the bottom, but there is still enough there for my pinky to get a good grip.

No...actually I had ordered the new extensions and they just came in today, so this was conceived before your post.

Kind of a no brainer since its a bit long, but figured I'd share the simple improvement.

I took off almost 1/4" and could have taken more, but figured I'd leave on the long side if a friend with bigger hands wants to shoot, plus it leaves some of the slope in the grip.

That is an excellent idea. I've changed back and forth several times. Without the extension it is just a little too small for me to grip comfortably. With it on I like the feel better, but it makes the gun a little harder to conceal and handle. I am going to make the modification. Thanks guys.
