I have an SR9 and 5 ruger magazines. 2 of the magazines will disconnect when you fire the gun. There isn't anything visually different than the other 3 that work just fine. Anybody else having an issue like this?

I have to really "slam" mine in or they wont engage and just fall out. they are 17rd mags, and it only seems to happen when they are full to 17rds, but I am new to handguns so it could be operator error too. :?

Exact same thing with my SR40C. When empty they click in and slide out nicely. When loaded it takes a good smack to seat the mag. Interesting to me that its in the SR9's as well.

Very early SR9's they had some magazine catch problems and Ruger redesigned it. If your pistol is one of those, Ruger should send you the new design replacement if you call them.

My SR9 has a D shaped magazine release and the safety type trigger, I believe it is the most recent gen.
I am leaning towards the 2 magazines because I can't make the other 3 I have become disconnected without pushing the magazine release.

I'm not sure it is the gun in my case, I think it is just me. I just have to smack it harder when loaded than when empty. I guess it's like so many other things. . . . . .
