I've tried to look it up but I'm coming up short, I have an older SR9 with the round mag release button and the hinged trigger. Rumor has it Ruger changed the trigger design at some point. My SR9C's trigger is way better as is my brother's SR40.

Do I have my facts right about the trigger being changed at the factory? Anyone know what they did?

I'm thinking about the ghost trigger bar and changing the sights. Other than that, I love the Ruger. No failures of any kind after many rounds!

Thanks for the info, yes the trigger is the new style. My question is, has Ruger made any changes since? I only ask as it feels alot differnet than my brothers sr40 and the guy at the LGS is "pretty sure they made a change" which sounds like he doesn't know.

The only other change they made that I'm aware of other than the trigger is the mag release button. They changed it from a round button to a D shaped button. Some of the round mag release buttons were very hard to press in to release the mag.

The newer SR9's with the "D" shaped mag release have the same trigger as the new SR9c's. Much better trigger than the older SR9's that have the round mag release.

Do new versions also come with the mag-safety? Thanks. :)

Yep, and I removed it the very 1st time I took out the striker assembly to clean the striker and the firing channel.

Any idea on how they're different and what, if anything, I could do to bring my older trigger up to match the newer? I could do a a ghost trigger bar but that doesn't tell me the differences between the two.

If you manage to improve it, please post what you did. My SR9 is terrible, over 8# of pull.

Tons of info available,

Mine breaks as crisp as a striker fired gun gets at just a hair over 5 lb following these instructions.

I had a good friend that had a SR9 ...his trigger was not very good...So I talked to a very good gunsmith and he said there is nothing he can do other than polish the contacting parts....the design of the trigger doesn`t allow him to do anything else...it would Rugers place to upgrade the trigger and build it differently...or some other company to design a remedy....This was about a year ago so I don`t know if Ruger has addressed the issue...I was very interested in the SR9 but didn`t get one based on my friends experience....If someone could come up with a 4# trigger I`d be interested in getting one...
