I shot like a severely injured money, but my SR9 ran like a champ through the IDPA Worlds. No malfs of any kind for 350 rounds and 27 stages. I was shooting Wilson Combat 125-gr match 9mm ammo.

Weather conditions at Universal Shooting Academy in Florida were brutal...90 degrees & 96% humidity, Biblical rain storms, and a plague of love bugs...yeech!

My only "mods" on my 2 guns were blacking the rear sight white dots and putting red fingernail polish on the front sight dot. Holster/mag pouches were Blade-Tech; belt Wilderness Tactical...my usual gear.

Congrats on competing at the World Match. How many shooters did they have? How many from overseas?

Anybody make fun of you for shooting a Ruger?

From what I understand you are not supposed to dry fire the SR9 without a magazine in the gun. So how do you handle the "Unload and show Clear" Now no mag in the gun. "Slide forward and hammer down" Now you are supposed to pull the trigger without a mag in the gun!!

So what do you do?

You can pull the trigger in the SR9, and the striker will travel forward and hit the magazine disconnector. A few dry fires are fine, Ruger just doesn't want you snapping off 500 times while watching "Dirty Harry" on TV.

True...I dry fire with the mag in place...no big deal on dropping the hammer every now and then.

They had over 300 shooters from 17 countries (I think)...heck of a match...27 stages in 18 bays...lots of bobbers, flippers, movers, etc.

Absolutely love the SR9...will probably get Novak rear sights with a wide notch, a green fiber optic front and a Ghost trigger bar. My carry SR9c has XS Big Dot sights.

What??

Michael Bane??? As in "The Best Defense"?

O.K. That does it.

Michael Bane shoots an SR9 in the Worlds!!

Good enough for me!!!

Nobody can make fun of my Rugers from now on! Ha!!

Love Ya Michael!!

I got my first handgun ever this last February (SR40) and have shot some local IDPA meets...have yet to see another one, or a SR9 for that matter. Seems like the Glock is the gun of choice out there but I really like the SR40 and it's never given me a problem with FTF or anything similar as I've seen other shooters have to deal with.
Good to see there's a few more out there using a Ruger...and Michael Bane...now that's cool!
