I'm picking my SR9 up in a a couple of weeks and I'm going to be doing armed security in the spring and summer and I'm having a hard time finding the correct sized duty holster for it. One of the guys I worked with carried his SR9c in a Serpa holster but I'm not sure which one to get because the SR9 Isn't listed under the size charts. I was looking at Uncle Mikes Pro-3 holster but same problem, no mention of the SR9 anywhere. Any recommendations would be great.

This is not a true duty holster, my work for security needs

It looks like almost any holster that fits the glock 26 will fit the sr9c.....

Does that go the same for the Glock 17 and SR9?

I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that the Serpa level2 duty holster for Glock 17/22 is a perfect fit for the full size SR9

You're doing armed security and you have to provide your own firearm?

Yep, I don't need to provide one for the training, just for work.

Watch on those Serpa holsters. I was using my SR9 in the one designed for an H&K USP. It fit just fine, but if I pushed hard on the side, it would hit the magazine release and drop the mag. NOT A GOOD SITUATION! I haven't tried the Glock holsters, but please check before using it for duty carry.

I'll definitely check before taking it out to work. Someday they'll have a Serpa specifically for SR pistols  ...wishful thinking

I would be very satisfied if I used my glock made serpa for security work with my sr9 full size. The retention is perfect, it clicks audibly when you insert it, and no amount of pushing or pulling will cause the mag to drop or the safety to move or anything like that. This holster may of well have been made for the sr9. Good luck!

Have you looked on Ruger's holster chart? Here it is-

I just got my MR Leather belt holster- man what a piece o' leather,

Safariland lists the 200 & 2005 models for the SR9. You have to find the ones with "84" in the middle of the model numbers. They are the S&W 99 and the Walter 99 models. Gould & Goodrich also list the K391 and the T391. What are the requirements for the job? What security level does the holster have to possess?

My issue holster is a Sarafiland A.L.S. for my GlockG-22 .I have 2 one for a weapon mounted light and one W/O/. the hood just rolls foward as you gain your firing grip on the gun with just a slight downard prerssuer on the thumb shelf .You can see the thumb shelf on the left inside of the holster under the guard .This makes my holster a doubble retention holster I still have the guard on mine ,and this keeps someone from sweeping the hood foward from in front of you . The holster is also offerd as an A.L.S. 3 ,which gives you the same hood I have + a sentry that locks the hood in place and gives you a thumb drive so that you can can nulock the sentry and roll the hood foward and still have gun retention .The sentrey stays locked untill I exit my car It's very easy to disenguage the thumb drive as you gain your fireing grip on the gun as you draw .The holster also has a suade like lining to help protect the finnish on your gun .Heres a few pics of my holster .
