Another $48 dollars worth of Speer Lawman TMJ (100 rounds) down range yesterday. Now 250 rounds on target with no issues. It might be time to try some hollow point ammo when I can afford it. Below zero with the windchill yesterday, I shot the SR45 down to a 2.5-3" groupings @30 feet. That's about the level of my ability with the best handgun I ever shot (S&W 639, SR9,etc.). @50 feet the group had a few flyers but maintained a consistent 3" group. I'm liking this pistol very much. At 50 feet the grouping is dead-on, that is, not to the left or right of the black. The magazines are seating and popping out smoothly after 250 rounds. They were a little sticky brand new in the box. Everything is all good, no ftf, fte, and we lock open on the departure of the last round as designed. Nice gun.

I'm glad it's going well for you. Only a few hours ago I left my LGS, where the SR45 was the only Ruger SR present. I asked to see it and handled it for the first time. I didn't buy only because of the size.
For whatever reason I don't like full sized handguns. Not Glock, Kimber, S&W... any of them, I just don't like them. But after seeing it in person, if and when there is a SR45c, I'm all in. Especially glad to hear about the good reliability.

The only problem with the eventual SR45c is that there will probably be a 6 round mag in it's compact configuration-6+1. It will no doubt have an extended 10 round mag, but then it's nearly the size of the full size version. Whatever configuration, the eventual 45c will pack a wallop in a small package.

The 6 round capacity is a magic number for me. I've seen it in other manufacturers offering small sub compacts in .45acp as well. That "6" number gets me to asking why I'm looking for a semi auto at all when so many other revolvers are chambered in the .45acp with 5-6 rounds and less complexity. Or taking it even further thinking of the many .357 options with similar capacity. Which rightly or wrongly I give credit as being an about equal stopper for ccw.
This is how the compact .45acp versions has often lead me to looking at some of the SP101's.

A neat little CCW is the Taurus Millenium Pro. 10 rounds of 45 ACP and smaller than my 6 shot Kahr. Mine has been reliable since day one.
I'm in western VA Buckeye, not far from you so maybe it won't be long. I really think the only reason it was the only SR series left in the case is probably because people don't really know what it is. Aside from the buyers familiar with the 9 and .40 SR's which are probably a very small % of gun owners.
The only things left in stock at my LGS are Taurus's, and I know why those are the last pick, they have a bad reputation. And the H&K's which are famously expensive.
I personally think Taurus makes some fine guns, and that H&K's are worth the money. I'm just commenting on why I think everything in between the two extremes (super cheap and super expensive) have been wiped off the shelves. In the panic buy people gravitated to the middle of the road, firearms in the 500-700 price range. Leaving only the cheap, and ultra expensive.

Picked my SR45 last weekend at Top Guns in Terre Haute, IN for $399 ... $10 less than the SR9.
Yep well done both of you guys. Even at 450ish I think that's fair. 400 is a steal though. I looked over the pics in detail and they appear to be exactly similar to the other SR's. I like that because I already know how to do a full take down of them. (Well I don't take the trigger clockwork apart) other then that though its a gun I know well. Kind of a plus to me.
