SR40 Holsters?

I know fobus has one, and I know the crossbreed supertuck for the sr9 will fit the sr40...

Besides those, are there any holsters for the SR9 that will also function for the SR40?

I'm specifically interested in the SERPA holsters, but would like to know about any holsters that work particularly well or poorly for the SR40.

I bought a Mitch Rosen holster from ShopRuger.com that was advertised to fit the SR9, the SR9c and the SR40 as I have have both the -c and the 40. My -c fits great in it and it's become my EDC holster.

My SR40 fits, but is a tad too snug, but then again, the SR40 doesn't get carried all that often. I would imagine that if I carried the 40 more often and broke the holster into it, then my SR9c might be a bit "loose" when carried.

Either way, it's a pretty good little holster, but, then again, for $75, it better be decent...

Heard this from a CCP instructor- several people using a serpa with the button- release retainer, they had accidental firings- seems if you're in a hurry, and you jerk the pistol out, what happens is your trigger finger is in the right position- so you accidentally pull it out just as you hit the button to release, and the finger goes straight to the trigger. No actual experience, but no reason to think this guywould lile to me.

That is true... people have had accidental firings.

It's because they don't know how to use a serpa and 'stab' the button with the tip of their pointer, so that when they pull the gun, their finger quickly moves into the trigger-guard.

You SHOULD instead use the pad of your pointer, with your finger straight, so that when you pull the gun, your finger ends up on the frame in a trigger-safe position.

I have experience with SERPA holsters and understand how people would screw that one up, but have never even been close to an accidental firing with one. If you google "serpa negligent discharge", you will find that same information over and over. Yes, it has happened, no, it is not the holster's fault.

Absolutely agree 100%. The holster is getting blamed for user error.

For anyone wondering, I contacted Blackhawk about the SERPA holsters. They said they didn't have information either way about the compatibility of the SR9 SERPA holster with the SR40, but doubted that it would fit.

For anyone waiting for a serpa for the sr40:

Dwayne Taylor from Blackhawk has informed me
"The sr40 will fit into the same holster as the sr 9, right hand only. Item number 410541BK-R."
