sr22 vs sr22 pistol

The SR22 is a rifle. Comparing that to the SR22 pistol, I guess I don't know what improvements were made to benefit either.

I think Werewolf is questioning any differences in the SR22s (pistol) that are actually marked "pistol" on the slide versus the ones that are not marked "pistol". Any improvements in design or function in the later iterations not so marked?

Perhaps I'm way off, but it seems logical. I don't own either so I can't comment, but My MKII target works great despite the barrel billboard.

The rifles are actually SR-22.

I was comparing pistol to pistol.The slide on the newer version states"sr22".On the first version it's "sr22 pistol".Ruger did not make it easy with their similar designation.

Did they improve or update the slide on the SR-22 Pistol

The early prod. were "SR22 Pistol" and the later were " SR22"

Were there changes to the slide or slide hold open catch as these two items were a problem early on?
