SR1911 in 9mm?

I've given up hope for the short run. If they are not making enough 45s to go around then adding a 9mm is unlikely to happen until they can and even if it did it would just be one more model that most of us can't get, eh? If I want a 9mm bad enough I will probably buy something else. It would be an SR1911/9 if one were available, I just don't see that happening soon.

I just went through this and bought a CZ 75B, very nice gun and less money also. If Ruger had any plan for a SR1911 / 9 I would have waited, but that isn't happening anytime soon given their major production problems and lack of availability.

Please: What/Which Major production problems? :?:

Lets start with scrapping out hundreds of slides ie quality issues, poor support from subcontractors, attempting to bring online new facilities and machinery taking longer then expected / estimated, people in CS quoting times and production numbers that make no sense to anybody, and last but certainly not least lack of preparedness of demand.

No matter your counter here, dispute all you want. But when you have hundreds of POed potential customers going / buying elsewhere....you have major production problems to them.

Funny how they had absolutely no problem supplying enough LC9's or SR22 PISTOLS .....

Wonder how they calculated that so accurately .... haven't heard ONE person say they can't get an SR22 PISTOL ... or an LC9 ... :D

True! But I still hate plastic. Guns should be steel and wood. 8)

The titanic was steel and wood, where is that now?? :D

I actually prefer all steel construction too, but when it comes to a CCW then will make the sacrifice for convenience.

Any talk of the SR1911 in 9mm? Just asking - not starting a rumour.
Mike

So I guess that would be a no

In all honesty, I would guess they WOULD build one. Just prob. not within the year. Also...I will prob. still buy one if they do. 8)

I didn't know that guns were boats.....

Plastic is the worst thing that ever happened to the gun business.

Did you all hear RRA is coming out with a polymer 1911? Saw it in some junk mail. You'll have to get one Ruger Packer.

Rock River's back into 1911's again ?? They made some of the finest 1911's on the market until they gave them up to concentrate on AR's.

No interest ... ZERO ... in a plastic 1911.

You have made many statements regarding the supposed issues with the SR1911 without anything to back them up....your statement which I quoted above is inaccurate and just plain untrue.

I have a Wilson Combat KZ-45 (1911) that has a double stack, polymer frame and is absolutely spectacular, It also is very slim for a double stack and fits the hand better than you would think.....If you ever get to pick one up...try it, you may find that you like it. Like you...I am NOT a plastic gun guy, but I have to admit that I was sucked in...Wilson really did a great job and it surprised the crap out of me. Doesn't mean I am buying another plastic pistol anytime soon though

Just so I have this straight, my statements are untrue because I didn't back them up, yet your statement that ALSO is not backed up is true why?

After you prove your statement to be true, I will then post my sworn statement from the CEO of Ruger stating that everything I posted is indeed fact, and even then I suppose there will be those that dispute that these are facts. 8)

You state that Ruger failed because they didn't plan for the demand yet most people did not believe Ruger would sell as many SR1911's as they have because "the market is flooded with good 1911's" and "As usual, Ruger is late to the game" etc. Your claim that Ruger scrapped hundreds of slides is NOT TRUE...

..you get the sworn statement from Ruger's CEO and send it to me Verndog...talk is cheap. I do not need to prove my statement is True because you cannot PROVE your statement is TRUE because I know your statement is NOT TRUE, I do not need to prove anything to you . I am just tied of people putting out misinformation about Ruger and others who spew BS about things that they have no DIRECT knowledge of. It is so easy to be critical and make the kind of general criticisms that I see so often on the forum....

BTW...I live in NH....you do know what is in NH don't you VernDOG...  ...enough said.

This has got to be the absolute biggest pile of crap I've ever read. Show us your sworn statement from Mike Fifer. You are such a phony. Nobody believes you one little bit that you have any such document.

Verndog went CZ 75b for by 9mm. Am thinking the same but am also considering an xdm 5.25 or 4.5 and springfield 1911 9mm. Any thoughts, as Ruger is no where close? I have the SR 1911 and like it but the slide has loosened after shooting. It is not quite as tight.

Wow...excellent work, did you figure that all out on your own??

Of course it is. And it matches the same crap that is unsubstantiated I'm being fed.

Congrats to you...neither do I.

If your any indication on what is in NH then my guess is not much.

Why don't you knuckleheads read my comment again?? If you did as I asked and proved my comments wrong, then it would be impossible for me to produce such a ridiculous document wouldn't it? Jeesh....someone turn the lights on and sharpen the "tools" in here.

Most of the issues I posted were hearsay, some sources more creditable then others. Sadly you missed or danced around the entire point of THAT post...I even separated it out in the bottom to help highlight it. I did that because OBVIOUSLY none of those things could be proven 100% to everyone's satisfaction...hence my statement and MAIN point....

Did you get that yet? Nothing you counter with will bring back those PO'ed potential customers and lost sales...it's a done deal. Meanwhile guys like you come to brag about how many you got (4 and me nor my dealer have yet to see 1) then allude to have an inside line on them. Great job...your really helping bring back those people that walked next door.
