SR-556 with .50 Beowulf "Upper"

My best friend bought a Ruger SR-556 and set it up nicely with a Burris P.E.P.R. scope mount, Burris Tactical 3-9x40 scope, and a Burris FastFire red dot. He also has a Magpul stock and pistol grip along with a Streamlight TLR-3 Light/Laser.

Today he showed me his Alexander Arms "upper" in .50 Beowulf that he just purchased. It has Troy battle sights and a quad rail along with the most serious looking compensator/muzzle break I've ever seen.

The .50 caliber rounds fit right in standard .223 magazines, but obviously they single stack instead of double. Ten rounds of .50 Beowulf fit in a standard 30 round AR-15 magazine.

I can't wait to shoot this thing with him - hopefully this Friday!

Now he has an A.R. platform rifle that will take ANY large dangrous game i n North America the only thing I wouldn't hunt with it is Cape buffalow,Elphant ,Rino , but thers part of the Afarican big 5 and I have no plans to go to Afarica.Cool gun! If you and he don't mind ,what did it cost him ,that would fit real nice on my S & W M & P 15-T .I've been thinking about a 6.8 SPC upper for my gun to hunt deer with as 5.56 is illegial here in Va for deer .The .50 would make one hell of a brush gun .

Nice Beo your friend has there. Recoil should be near 20 gauge level with the factory brake on it. I am curious as to the effectiveness of that brake, as the 'Pepperpot' does absolutely nothing. Make sure your friend keeps an eye on the collapsible stock. I've had 2 fail on mine so far and have since went to a fixed stock.
