I just bought an old stock new in box RUGER 556 TD with extra
300 Blackout barrel
Any info would be greatly appreciate.
I know nothing about this model.
How many were made?

Yes, the last of the SR556 line was the TD model, could not have sold many as they almost simultaneously introduced the AR556 model.

This is the SR 556 Takedown. The "SR" 556 is a piston system vs the Ruger "AR" 556 which is gas system. The differentiator to yours is that it is a takedown. This will allow you to swap out the barrel between the 556 and the 300 BLK, using the same lower and upper. It is intended to be a quick swap between 556 and 300BLK barrels.

One of my good friends has one of these. His can be pretty picky on ammo.

I personally dig the SR series rifles, as I have a SR 762, which is the Piston AR10.

That in itself seems contradictory since a complete AR upper is already an easier swap.
