You know I just love this time of year. The little valley through my back woods is popping out with new leaves. They almost look eatable...if I was a leaf eater.

2 days ago, we still had snow on the ground, but my wife hung our laundry out on the cloths line for the first time this year. She had to wear boots to get out there. :)

Now that's dedication to get that outdoor smell in your stuff.

Yep it may smell bad to some but it was my bread and butter while working on the farm during high school. I have shoveled and loaded a bunch of it onto the spreader.
Spring was put the livestock out to pasture then clean out the barn and spread the manure on the fields. Ours was solid not liquid.

Drive thru Iowa on a warm windy day. 🤣
No need... there are several dairy farms very close to where I live... we get the full aroma of what my uncle calls dairy-air. And if that smell is not enough for you my wife has family that runs a large egg farm that has locations in probably 6 counties. The lovely smell of chicken crap has offended the delicate noses of the yuppies who decided that they wanted to live in the country. The joke is on them because the farms are located in right to farm towns with their operations being close to 100 years old in some cases. Put up with the smell or sell ....

How many of the younger generation even knows about that smell???? :) I know my kids don't. Another one of life's delights GONE
I just pulled down our outside clothes line since neither of us are able, anymore, to haul wet stuff from our basement to the backyard. Do miss the unique outdoors feel of sheets and such.

Spring arrives in SouthCentral Alaska around the second week of May - the birch trees leaves appear and things "green up" overnight it seems.

I too am glad to see the leaves and grass back. Winter trees appear DEAD … winter looks like doom and gloom.
A couple weeks ago we had a record high temp day. It was 87 and I mowed my yard for the 3rd time already.
My friend near Fairbanks had another 8 inches of snow the same day.

I got the second mowing of the yard and pastures in yesterday. About 4 hours on a 42" rider. Now back to another week of rain. I can almost watch the grass growing but pretty sure any new leaf growth is still a month away.
