We have had so much warm weather, most of the snow load had melted off and a bunch of rock was exposed on all the higher peaks, but in the last 48 hours, all the high country around here caught up some on snow total for the year. Big help for the aquifer and fire danger. We only had 5 inches here at the house but down in the bottom of San Luis Valley they got up to a foot, really needed, and it all melted off the next day, good moisture soak. Blanca peak and the Sangre De Cristo range down into New Mexico got some desperately needed snow.
Looking NW towards Monarch from my bedroom deck this morning. Man I love this place.

I have no idea where in CO. You are but its looks like heaven. I have been to Golden a few times and thought it was great, just being in the foot hills.

My Father was stationed In Colo Springs at Ent AF base in the early 60's part of Norad and Cheyenne Mountain, My Aunt and Uncle lived in Gunnison, Made many a trip over Ute Pass and Monarch Pass to visit. Probably saw that view many times and never appreciated the beauty of the Rockies . I sure do miss it tho.
