…and NO snow in southern MN! 
Five degrees here this morning, supposed to be colder tomorrow. 
,,,aha, gotcha, its 6 degrees here and ALL the snow is still on the ground but the sun is shining, long the shores of Lake Erie.... :unsure: :rolleyes:

Day high here of +15 and low of -11. Within the normal range. Coldest I recall here was -33 degrees (F). That is cold for us as many of the houses are not insulated for that temperature. So, their pipes freeze. Even the village water system freezes. Many of us rely on wood stoves in winter. So, it keeps us busy with feeding. No hardwood here! We used to burn coal but the mine closed north of here and west of Trinidad, CO. They produced the most beautiful hard coal I have seen. One can still drive the mine road and dig out coal from the veins exposed in the road cuts. I may do that one of these days. Just for fun. Good to have hard coal on hand and mix it with wood. My stove is iron and handles it well.

It’s sunny and 55° here south of Tampa. Not so much the first week of the year I spent in Maryland for work. It didn’t get above 30° and that Thursday it only got up to 23° and we had gale warnings with 45mph winds. Too cold for this Florida boy; it’s been a long time since I was stationed in Korea, Colorado and Washington state.

The outside temp display in my car has apparently turned binary. Would only read "0" or "1" all the way into work this morning. :unsure:

When I was a kid (several hundred years ago) all we had was a coal furnace. I used to stoke it a few times per day and shovel out the clinkers and ash. Up in Ohio where we lived there was a Landmark store that sold coal by the train tracks next to the store.. I had bought a cheap wood stove and installed it in my basement. One day I thought to get some coal and see if it smelled the same when burning it in the cheap stove. Well it did and the heat from the burning coal damn near bubbled up all the paint on the siding. So out it went with the trash. That was too close to a house fire for me.
-12 this morning here in north central Illinois but not a speck of snow. We certainly could use some of that "global warming" that I keep hearing about but not seeing where I live.

I think that it was 77 or 78, I was in college, going to school in Indiana. As I recall, we had about a week of -20. That was fun.
Still a big deal if you're still attempting to dig out from under the 8" of snow, 2" of ice, and 4" of snow we got here! Single-digit temps have kept the whole mess pretty well in place yet. Was finally able to get an oil delivery truck into our driveway yesterday after hauling ten gallons of diesel fuel every day for the last five days because of ice and an overloaded system.

Moved from AZ to PA. In-between storms. TN got flurries, that turned to sleet and then snow. VA got 5-7 inches of that white stuff, and PA got the same amount. Must have been bad during the storm in PA as several cars and trucks were down in the median. Slowly melting here in SE PA.
Almost got all the ice off the driveway. Got up to 50 degrees today, and it's supposed to rain for the next couple of days. Hope to get the driveway completely clear.
