Spring has sprung! I have about 1 inch of 'white and fluffy' spring on my front porch and it is still coming down. :x :x Glad I didn't put the snow shovel away to await next winter.

We're about to get more white stuff here, too. My remaining Bradford pear (most worthless tree ever created) is about to grace us with a day or two of white blossoms. They will then fall off, leaves will sprout, and it will become a favored rost for the grackles and starlings. Did I mention it hangs over my driveway? :x

Spring has sprung. So have my back muscles from starting to get the ground ready for my vegetable garden. Ain't as young as I used to be.

Been eye balling garden plot for two weeks. Seeds are here. Tiller is itching to bust some sod. It is in the 60's this week and ground is to wet. Still the urge is here.
Wife ask me last week "why even try, the varmints get it all anyway". (last time coons got 95% of six settings of sweet corn, one settin is 8-50 foot rows.)
Just getting seed in the ground is tough. To many wild turkeys. I have had turkeys picking up corn seed on the end of the row while I'm still dropping seed! I have to take a leaf rake and camouflage rows and they will still get it when it sprouts! Fences, electric wires even a dog close by fail. I have seen 70+ turkeys in that little spot.
Man I just gotta bust some ground. Futile, I just don't learn.....

It got down to 0 again last night and we still have 2-3 feet of snow. Both wood fires burning. Usually we figure it is safe to plant the garden the 1st of June but every once in a while we will still get hit with a frost.
