Speed six

Fixed sites .... yes. All of them as far as I know.

Square butt? Not that I'm aware of but the old saying with Ruger is ..... "never say never".

What barrel length is it?
Blued or stainless?
Caliber?
Serial number?
Picture?

Sorry I meant adjustable sights and square butt. Gun is 2 3/4 barrel, stainless , 9mm

We need to see photos.
I've seen mis - roll stamped guns - usually Speed sixs (round butt, fixed sight) marked 'Service Six' (Square Butt, fixed Sight). (I have 3  )
It would not surprise me that a short barred Security six (square butt, adj. sight) was mis marked. I've seen at least one Security Six mismarked as a Service Six.

It would also be easy to install a 9mm cylinder in a Security six frame - basically interchangeable with the 357 mag. cylinder.
However, I've NEVER heard of an adjustable sight 9mm. We'd need to compare the 9mm markings on the barrel with one on a Speed Six. It would have been possible to buff out the original .357 mag. markings and re-stamp with '9mm'.
But....as we say with Ruger, "Never say 'Never'".

I've always sort of expected one to show up. Love to see some photos. Need to get a letter from Ruger on it's original factory configuration.

New to forum trying to post photos. Roll marked speed six on frame and 9mm parabellum cal.

If you're talking about this listing on Gunbroker.com, The adjustable sights have been added after market - they are not normal ruger adj. sights. :(

Terry,
I saw that one too and it just doesn't look right. The front sight is just wrong, doesn't look good and the rear sight, well, what can I say. Don't know why someone would do this. Why not just sell it in its' original condition and buy a Short Security Six?

Bud,
If you read that ad carefully it does state aftermarket adjustable sights, he just did a bad job on the english language

"Bidding on an excellent condition Ruger Speed Six in 9mm. Stainless finish with aftermarket Pachmyar grips and Adjustable sites."

That is the one. Buddy of mine told me about. I've checked it out, not for me. Good looking out thanks terry, hittman and todd.
