Speed loader friendly wood grips for Security Six?

I have a nearly new 1979 vintage 4 inch stainless security six I bought unfired a couple years ago. I notice the stock grips are not very speed loader friendly as they interfere with the alignment just a bit.

I see examples on the web of the Ruger oversize wood grips that appear to be shaped to better accommodate a speedloader. Is that correct?

Are there any slender wood grips similar to the original stock that better accommodate a speed loader?

Those are the larger style I was referring to. Have you used them and do you like them?

They aren't particularly speedloader friendly; my Security Six came with them, and they were quickly discarded, first for a set of Hogue rubber fingergroove grips, and then definitively for a set of modified Trausch TJ84R (which needed the left upper grip's ledge to be whittled down to work, particularly with Safariland Comp II speedloaders).

The Ruger target wood grips look nice, but there are better grips for both grip and gun retention, especially for rapid shooting, in my experience and opinion-especially if you plan on using .357 Magnum ammunition.

If you want to remain with wood, I'd suggest going with some of Hogue's excellent selection, or with the original Ruger "splinter" grips with the addition of a Tyler T-Grip insert.

I never updated this post. The larger grips do accommodate the speedloader much better than the original grips. I have left them on since I got them.
