The last couple of years have been somewhat hectic in my household, and my back yard got away from me. Sort of expect to hear jungle sounds at times.

So, lately I've been clearing out the jungle like growth. I mean trees have grown up, along with privet hedge. I've cut stuff down and piled it up, dragging it around to the front for trash pick up ~ we live in the city so burnng is ut of the question.

I catch myself thinkin' of the Bible verse where God told Adam, "Cursed is the ground for thy sake.......It shall bring forth thistle......" Can't quote that verbatim, but its in Genesis.

I’ve thought the same thing. That we are cursed. The things that grow easy, and thrive on neglect are usually either harmful, or just plain useless.

The plants that benefit us and can sustain us take effort and care to grow.

Why can’t tomatoes grow along the roads like poison ivy does? Why can’t avocados grow like Japanese rag weed? Even the mighty oak tree. I get so many acorns I have to shovel them up. Why couldn’t they be Pustachios?

We are definitely not in the garden of Eden anymore.

Poor banished children of Eve. Mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.

I agree, but he said that’s not an option. If a big city truck will pick it up for free that’s a great option too. Enjoy your new yard Bob.
