It appears that the springs in the rear sight of my SP101 .327 (s/n 576-60xxx) are way too short. When I raise the rear sight to a reasonable amount for 50 ft. shooting, the springs don't apply any tension to the sight. The springs measure 3.5 mm uncompressed. Without taking apart other revolver rear sights to check spring length, I thought someone here could advise me. My GP100 .44 spcl is raised about the same as the SP101 needs to be and it has plenty of tension. Are rear sight springs different lengths for different revolvers? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I had the same problem. I contacted Ruger CSR and told them of my problem and she sent me two springs. I took the sight apart and installed the new springs and all is good now. I thought mine did not have any springs in it but it did, they were just crushed in assembly and were less than 1/4" tall.
