SP101 22lr!

Hi! I picked up this 4" in 22lr a couple of months ago at a local pawn shop. I have never seen one before so I ended up paying! Pictures are kind of dark. I am wondering why I see no posts on these?

The SP 101 in .22LR was only made from 1990 to 1994 if I remember correctly

Very nice gun you have there. I know the biggest reason I don't have one is I've never seen one for sale. I can say from time to time, someone starts a thread asking Ruger to make a nice .22 double action.

There has been threads asking for the return of this model and I sure would buy one.

I suppose a guy could keep checking Gun Broker or other auction sites.... Personally, I'd like to see it before bidding on one.

Ruger also made a 2 1/4" snubby in 22lr as well as the 4"er..
I saw one of each at a local gunshow for $425ea & was tapped out at the time & have never seen one again..

With the punishment that the 357 can take I'd say you could never hurt that revolver no matter how much ammo you run threw it..

BTW nedlate your SP101 dates to 1991 by it's serial #

Thanks for the replies. I do feel kind of funny being my first post! I have been browsing here for a long time! (Years!)
Thank you for the link WAYNO, I appreciate it. berettapistols thanks for the date. I had to clean the gun up a bit for pictures. It does need a spring kit, the trigger pull is pretty heavy. I wonder if a spring kit for a sp101 centerfire will work?

The Wolff spring kit for the SP101 will work in the 22lr revolver too..

You may have to go with the 10/11/12lb spring to get 100% ignition as it takes a bit more power to set off a rimfire than a centerfire, at least this was my experience with a couple of S&W rimfires. And of course the RP rebound spring can also be used too.

I looked for years for one of these and found one at a show in Knoxville. But mine has a full lug barrel. As far as shooting it It's a Ruger and will keep shooting till we see he pigs fly overhead. I love it my only problem with my Rugers is which ones do I take to the range. I have taken them all but then spend to much time loading and unloading the Bronco.

I didn't know they made this model, either. And I thought that a NIB 96/22 was a good score last year!

I'll have to keep an eye out for one of those. It would be a great upgrade from my Taurus 94.
