:D Was wondering how many shoot alot of 357s, a few for practice, or mostly 38s from their SP-101s. And if 357 what loads? 125,158,180 or others.

If mine goes to the range with me, it gets some 38's and some .357's. the later are Federal 125gr Hi-Shoks.

mostly .38 and .38 +P.
Try to get at least 5 to 10 rds of .357 158gr HP in at least every other range trip.
A lot (50+ rds) of .357 makes my wrist sore.

Similar for me.

I shoot a lot of 38 reloads in mine, maybe 200 rounds a month. I usually end a shooting session with five 357s in 125g JHPs.

I live in a rural area and carry the revolver a lot when I'm fishing (Snake River Canyon) or bird hunting on BLM land. I carry the CCI snake loads alternating with the 357 JHPs. I never fired a snake load though.

More than a few, but less than a lot.

Load of choice is Remington Golden Saber 125 grain in .357 Magnum. A midrange power load that is not so hard on the hand and wrist, but still powerful.

I shoot whatever I can find at Wal-Mart. haha A guy at my rig is going to bring me a small assortment of .357s his next hitch.

I put a mix of both thru mine as well. I target practice with whatever bulk .38s Cabela's has. I also shoot a lot of whatever Wal Mart has for .357 - usually WWB JHP.
But for carry, I agree with Wendy - the 125 grain Golden Saber is a very comfortable round.

I shoot all 357 mags in my SP 101. Mostly my lead mid range loads, a little factory full power loads and some full power lead and jacketed reloads just to remind me that it does recoil. :D

I always shoot at least one cylinder of Wolf Gold .357, 158 grainers. And whatever .38s Wally world has, mostly 130 grainers.

Mine are almost all 357. I reload my own though, so most of it is minimum loads with Bullseye or Unique. Still hotter than 38, but pleasant to shoot.

All .357, mostly 158's I get at Wal-Mart and also some 125gr Golden Saber since that is my defense ammo. I would like to work up a hand load that comes close to duplicating the GS when I get a chance.

I mostly shoot .357s in mine. .38s are just boring. I want something that makes me pay attention. I mostly shoot 125 and 158 grain loads because that's what's cheap at the store and that's what I have for cheap reloading. I prefer to shoot 180gr loads though. That's what I carry when hiking and that's what hits POA with the fixed sites.

I guess I go along with the crowd. Usually do .38s to warm up / cost and then switch to .357. 60% .38.
My preferred .357 load is 158gr SJHPs, when I can get them. Availability has been spotty for the last year, but seems to be getting better. I try to avoid the 110s. Have used a lot of 125s when 158s were scarce, but I still prefer 158s.
I follow this with all of 'em:
SP101 DAO 2.5"
GP 100 4"
BH 4 5/8"
