Ever see a firework shell burst with stars of one color then change to a different color? Sometimes a dark delay when the stars seemingly go out then reappear? Sometimes a wave effect when the globe of expanding stars transform color from left to right, top to bottom?

This short show is simply an off-the-charts example of those shells. My mind can barely comprehend the detail, time and skill involved in making such elaborate stars. The shells become more complex as the show progresses. Enjoy :)

good example of sub-munitions!

So much going on that one doesn't know where to look...at what's going on at ground level or up at the sky. Had to keep darting back and forth. Really amazing.

I've seen many types of fireworks like this. It's what I do for a living.

Here's a link to a competition we did in Montreal in 2016. A tribute to Elton John. Slow to start but it builds.

Have you ever worked in the film industry?

I ask, because many guys that work in fireworks displays, use to be pyrotechnics guy's in the movie industry.. And also did it as a sideline job since they are uniquely qualified for the film industry.. I used to know a guy that went by "Pyromike" or "Pyro" for short, in the film industry. So, thought I would ask.. Was wondering if you were him. :D

Only in San Diego...3 huge barges in the bay...20 minutes scheduled of the most beautiful fireworks ever..people jammed up on the freeway for hours...people waitng expectantly for the huge show..all the media present and waiting....and then..and then.....except someone goofed and all 3 barges went up at once in about 20 seconds:

Mike, your response is to say one, no big deal and two, my dad's bigger than your dad? Your insecurity is of no concern of mine sir. Your penchant for making petty comments on my threads however is. Lay off!

My apologies Rugerforum,

Opos,

Yes, that was a big mistake someone made there. One of the operators decided to make a last minute check on the shows continuity and because it was scripted, hit the option to run through the entire show's sequence to ensure proper firing. Only problem was that the system was armed when the operator did it.

The result, as you already stated was the entire show fired in about 20 seconds. That was an expensive error. I had a trainee do something similar by hitting the finale right off the bat. Had to run around for twenty minutes changing things around while shells were firing to ad-hoc a finale in it's place. Crowd never knew what happened. They just thought we opened up the show in tremendous fashion.
