This is a set of curly maple grips dyed red. I think they look pretty nice.

Is that the 44 special flat top or the .357 50th anniversary gun?

Either way it looks amazing.

Very nice look, Cary! I like 'em.

I see you are also receiving the "new" cartoon medallions that Ruger is shipping. They are a lot better than the under-sized plastic looking things that they were shipping a few months back!

I don't quite get what you mean by cartoon medallions. I don't see anything wrong with these and I never got any plastic looking things.

These newer "OM" medallions have thicker black lines which I think comes from a deeper impression compared to the ones that I was getting while the 50th Anniversary guns were still being produced. 4-6 months ago I received a batch of medallions from Ruger that were considerably undersized on the OD, had a thinner and concave face to them, and were of questionable casting quality; they almost appeared to have been made of Chinese chrome plated plastic that you see on cheap toys. I unded up sending back over $100 worth of them because they were completely unuseable. They have been much better since.

Thanks for the explanation. You must have gotten all the bad ones because I didn't get any of them. If they were that bad, they probably changed vendors right away. Hopefully they didn't get that many of them and just tried to pawn off what little stock they had. You just happened to be the unlucky one.

This batch of black eagles I just got is beautiful. I was surprised at the paint. It is absolutely perfect in every medallion. It looks like the paint was applied by machine. Almost too perfect to be hand applied by some worker hung over from last nights big party.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! I kinda thought exotic burl woods might have an even better effect from the dye than the oak. Very nice double CC grip master. Keep'em comin'!
