All three snow blowers are fueled up and ready to go, kerosene heater at the ready, plenty of food on hand, and no work...woo hoo! We're in the 30+ area, I guess we'll see. Everybody out there in the Northeast stay warm and limber up those muscles for the clean up.

 We ain't had any real winter in a long time...........please send some of that down to Texas...........

Snowblower now positioned at the front walkway. Fuel in tank and more in container nearby. Lots of milk, TP, and bread already stocked so we don't have to act like the world is ending and rush to the store. The good news is that the weather prognosticators are now saying 4 - 8 inches in my area, when earlier it was 6 - 10. They are calling for 8 - 12 further west of us. I am just one mile off I-95 and also one mile + south of the Susquehanna River. Anyone wants to watch what I get now know exactly where I am located.

You do realize that if it gets down to TX, they will be in five to eight feet
of that fluffy white stuff?

We hit a high of 164% of normal snow fall this season, and then it shut
off. We are now "down" to 133% of normal. :D That said, there are a
few (10 to 15) spots running in excess of 150 inches of snow.
But AZ wants all of that they can get.

We were in the 6 plus area and got 1 inch so I wouldn't hold your breath. Seems the weatherman has got to sell sensationalism too. You will probably get a couple inches at best.

We had our first real day of spring out West yesterday. Hit 60+ degrees over most of Oregon!!! I got the 20yo riding mower out and running, then cut about an acre of grass, cleaned out the chicken house, pruned some trees and called it a day. Now back to our regular NW spring, with rain forecast from light to heavy for the next 7 days and highs in the 50's.

Stella! I know they started naming snowstorms a few years ago but I think they should reserve naming for hurricanes like they still do. A blizzard is a big pain but doesn't rise to hurricane status.
No matter what they call it I have gas for the blower and the snow shovels down from the attic.

Hi...
I live in South Central Pennsylvania, they are predicting 18"+ of snow with up to 40mph winds.
You can have it all... I want no part of any of it.
Nevertheless, we are all stocked up with groceries, the snowblower is gassed up and ready to go and my Labradors are all excited about going out to play in the snow.

I wouldn't have been surprised to have a blizzard. We dismounted the dozer blade from the 4430 JD last week(don't usually do that before April 1) to start prepping that tractor for planter duty. If it really gets that bad, I can still put the bucket on the loader and scoop my way out.

Wasn't that a line from "A Streetcar Named Desire"? Brando shouted that. :D :D
If the guys and gals in Baltimore are consistent we won't get anywhere near what they are calling for. They haven't hit it right for quite a while. The last 'storm' they said was coming was a bust. I could have cleared the front porch with the wife's hair dryer. For once I HOPE they are consistent. Gotta go fill up the bird feeders so they will have some 'snacks' when whatever we get is gone. Tuck in with a good book, a cup of strong coffee and wait it out. Stay safe everyone.

Still waiting for it to start here in Central NJ (2054). I have 6 snow shovels, several pairs of boots, etc. I look upon snow shoveling as a workout, lets me burn of calories and then indulge myself with goodies.
The previous 2 snows were just heavy dustings, light and powdery. Our one snow last year was billed as a "blizzard", but it came down slowly over a much longer period. Fortunately that was on a Saturday when I was off work. Years ago we had a heavy snowfall on April 1.

It is now 10:30 and it has been snowing VERY lightly for the past hour. I have my Boy Scout walking stick that is graduated in 1 inch segments up to three feet. I have it standing on the corner of the porch and we shall see what we end up with.

Hi...
Almost 7:30AM...Been snowing since 9:00PM last night with sleet mixed in the last couple hours or so.
Wind is blowing at 24mph...Looks like about 8" on my deck.
Snow plow went by my cul-de-sac a little while ago.
I probably won't start running the snowblower or shoveling for couple of hours.
No hurry...The plow didn't turn into my cul-de-sac.
I have no interest in going anywhere anyway.

Well the worst of it is over here. Didn't get but about 3 inches of snow but on top of it I have over a 1/4 inch of ice on EVERTHING. One of my Leland Cypress is bent over and I hope that it will spring back once all the ice melts. Holy smoke. As I am typing this I looked out the window and the sun was shining. Whoopee!

Got two chickens in the pot to make a big batch of soup and 1 big bottle of crown to keep me warm throughout the Blizzard of 2017...we are expecting 18-24" and potentially up to 30...no big deal, we had over 36" a few weeks ago over three days...my son has already gone out to shovel twice and we will hit it again soon, we try to shovel every 4-6" and stay ahead of it, that is my Dad did and I have adopted his system...

We are usually all cleaned out before our neighbors even start...they think we have a heated driveway!!

Stay safe and enjoy the storm, there is nothing to compare to the silence, and beauty of the falling snow and the smell of the air, I absolutely love it, always have and always will...just beautiful to me...and peaceful.

My daughter is on Long Island. Prediction was 1' - 2' of snow. As of noon all they were getting was rain and sleet.

She grew up in Michigan. A foot of snow - we just laugh and say, "Hold my beer and watch this". She said in NY if 6" is predicted they close schools, businesses, and tell people to stay off the roads - before the storms even start.

She just laughs and enjoys the hype.

Just drove home from work. WINDY and snow is coming down hard. Visibility was nearly non-extant at some points and was kinda guessing where the road was. Some roads had been plowed but windrows kept spots with 5-8" common. That I don't mind so long as I can see.

I just shoveled off the driveway and it's the heaviest 2" of snow I ever shoveled. Of course that's because it sleeted most of the night sandwiched between snow. I didn't even try the snowblower. Seemed like it would have been more trouble than it was worth.

Central Pa. 18+ on the ground, still have flurries, and lots of wind, & starting to drift already !

Got about 14" of heavy, wet, snow. It's the consistency of wet cement and weighs about the same. I have an Ariens Platinum Plus SHO for the heavy stuff and my wife uses her Ariens Path Pro, we cleaned up our neighborhood, did the MIL's property, then my mom's sidewalk. I keep my old Troy Bilt Storm 7524 at my sister's place so I don't have to drag any equipment over there...I'm pooped!

Convinced by all the Weather Channel hype, I made all of the usual preparations. Drove the Jeep on my 26 mile commute to work, instead of the Ford (12 mpg vs. 34 mpg). It snowed for about an hour, then turned to rain. Big disappointment for me, I love snow!

Hi...
Got all the snow I really need...About a foot with some sleet for a touch of variety then back to snow and some serious wind.
Blowing and drifting snow... Just makes more work.
Cleared the sidewalk and deck...An hour later shoveled another 3-4 inches of the sidewalk and deck.
Ran the snowblower and cleared the driveway after the township plowed the cul-de-sac and cleared off the vehicles. Worse part was the 2 foot high wall of snow and ice the township used to block my driveway.
Just after I finished up, the township made another sweep of the cul-de-sac and blocked my driveway again. Cleared it again...Not near as much as the first time...Nice of them to give me that second opportunity, they do it every snowstorm...
Funny thing is they never plow the neighbor's driveway shut across the cul-de-sac or the four houses at the end of the cul-de-sac.
Just lucky, I guess.

My snowblower is also still covered. No way it would chew through that combo. I walked on TOP of the snow to get to the bird feeders. Barely left a footprint.

When I lived in Hagerstown, MD , it use to ALWAYS PO me that just after shoveling out the driveway the snow plow would come to out Cul-d-sac and pile a two to three feet mound of wet heavy slush in front of my driveway.

Should I mention the patch of ice on the driveway in the shade of the house? Everything else melted away, but that ice patch stayed and grew---
THEN one day I caught my daughter (love the brat) sprinkling water from the hose on on the patch so she could KEEP using it as her personal ICE RINK.

About 5" here in Central NJ, the last inch or so rather sleet-like, so shoveling was a good workout. They do a good job in the apartment complex I live it, I do my walk anyway. Moved my car to a spot where I could clean it off, then shoveled out my parking spot. I have several snow shovels, I found my long handled D-blade was just right for the icier parts. Left my apartment about 1600 to check on elderly relatives, the streets were pretty clear.
