I have a .357 Blackhawk that was in terrible shape when I bought it that I got inexpensively. It needed a Gripframe (GF), and barrel, so since I had all of the parts in stainless (ss) (Super Blackhawk GF, ported fiber optic barrel all ss innards, + ss cylinder) it made no sense to dump dollars into blue so I gave it to a local gunsmith to fit it up with the ss bits.

The results were not good. The cylinder doesn't lock up on one chamber without a deliberate hard cocking pull and the trigger job was not done at all.

I "think" my issues are easily solved and I need a reliable gunsmith who does not have a 6 month++ wait for what I "think" is a relatively minor job. Does anyone have suggestions for a smith with an FFL?

The ones who do good work have waits. Simple to you isn't necessarily simple or anyone could do it.

Supply vs. demand. High demand for competent work combined with limited skilled craftsmen, equals wait times.

Just find another smith local enough to drive to.
Gun like that just doesn't make sense to spend hundreds shipping it around the country.
