I have a 357 flattop with 4-5/8 inch barrel, but would like a longer barrel. I really like the look of the S&W 14 barrel and think that would be neat on the flattop. I saw on Bowen's page that he has put Smith barrels on rugers. Has anyone here had this done? Would a model 14 barrel work in this case or would I have to find an L frame barrel?

I have had Andy Horvath install a Smith 57 barrel, 41 caliber, on an old model 357 convered to 41 Special.

I am a .41 fan and own three of the mags. I have to say I have been unable to tear myself away from that photograph the last 15 minutes. The .41 special thing fascinates me too. I am not too sure I could give up the barrel on my 57 to build one though.

Any of you want to build a ribbed barrelled 41 mag or Special, let me know. I have a spare 8 3/8" model 57 barrel that I had the nickel removed from that you can have for cost if you want to try one. The little gun I posted above had a 57 barrel that was nickeled when I got it then had it stripped and Andy refinished it after shortening it.
