Smaller Ruger SP101 "boot" grip?

I seek a "boot"-style SP101 grip, shorter top-to-bottom than Ruger's original OEM grip with inserts, that is also smaller from back strap-to-centerline of trigger?

I'm attempting to describe a Ruger SP101 grip that emulates S&W "J" frame boot grip, perhaps modified for smaller woman's hand.

While I wouldn't rule out rubber or other recoil absorbing basis material that I prefer, I suspect I'm asking about grip made of wood?

I don't know of anything smaller than the factory rubber with wood insert. These Eagle Secret Service grips are about the smallest SP grips I've seen.

Outside of the factory Ruger grips that use the insert, these two below grips would be the only similarly compact grips that I can think of.

I found some SP101 grips from Thailand on ebay that run a tad smaller than Ruger factory grips. Mine were second hand or I'd tell you the manufacturer. They look a bit like the old Uncle Mikes/Butler Creek Craig Speigel design grips.

Take a look at the Eagle Secret Service grips. I recently ordered a set in rosewood.

I don't know about boot grips for the SP-101 but the Hogue grip is thinner and perfect for anyone with smaller hands. It is a little longer than the factory grip but gives you better control. Comes in wood or rubber.

Uncle Mike's made a boot grip, but discontinued them a few years ago. You might be able to pick up a set on feebay, as they do show up there once in awhile. That's where mine came from. :wink:

I've been looking at the Eagles too. They're a good looking grip, and should be pretty comfortable as well.

If you get a Hogue nylon monogrip, you can cut it off, about 1/8" below the last finger-groove. Drill and tap the bottom of your frame for a 10-32 bolt. Get a Pro-Bed (Midway) or Acra-glass (Brownells) kit, follow the instructions and pack the saw-hole with epoxy, then sand to fit. Very, very stubby grip, but very manageable, as you essentially knot your pinky under the grip. I'd post a pic, but we're finishing up a move and mine is in storage. :?

Edit: Meant to add, I like the nylon Hogues, as you can sand/grind them to fit, stipple, remove or deepen finger grooves to suit your needs, all for a $20 entry point.
