Slide oil-SR9

All,

What kind of grease do you folks use when cleaning/greasing your weapons?

I have used a light oil in the past, but have read that some use a lithium grease, or some other types of oil....

what are your suggestions?

Break Free CLP for me

I use Break free CLP on my SR9 because it is my AR's companion and that's what I use on it.

On my other concealed carry guns, I use Eezox and a little smattering of Tetra gun grease on the rails and barrel lug.

I have been using Eezox on all my guns lately. I like the fact that it pours very freely but the excess is easily wiped down. Also, especially on my Buckmark, the action seems to stay a little cleaner after shooting a hundred rounds or so; or maybe it's my imagination.
Realistically, I would think that most any of the popular lubricants will do a satisfactory job. People tend to use what they are happy with over time.

I use RemOil and have no trouble. Just a range and home defense gun for me.

Hoppe's Elite Oil. Used to use RemOil. Still keep some around for final wipedown. The Hoppe's is just slightly thicker. It smoothed up the bolt on my M77 to hot butter status. LOL

My handguns are lubricated with Mobil 1 and wiped down with G96.

I like Mill-comm TW25 for the rails and MC2500 for oiling . It cost a little more but if I just spent $400 to $500 on a pistol I wouldn't care about spending $20 on good grease and oil .

QM, Welcome to the forum! Use grease if you will, but I thoroughly advise "against" it. I have cleaned an untold number of guns in 44+ years of gunsmithing that were full of congealed "gunk": hardened grease, dirt, dust, powder residue, etc., etc. Grease has a way of attracting those "things" that cause a firearm to malfunction. There are many "good" gun oils on the market, some of them mentioned above. Save the "grease" for ball joints and wheel bearings!...........................Dick :wink:

I started using Gunzilla. Works great.

On slides I use synthetic automotive grease. A little dab'll do you and it stays in the grooves. I'd never use it on internals, just a good quality gun oil and not much at that.
